New August Lessons
We have new lessons available for August - both before and after the end of Summer classes.
- Bravo Classes - If you've never sailed before, this is a good class for you and we have two of them - one is 3 wednesday afternoons/evenings starting August 8, the other is all day Friday August 24 & Saturday August 25. In this class you could earn your bravo rating.
- Doublehanded Class - A fast paced class beginner class will be taught on Flying Juniors the weekend of August 18 & 19. These boats have two sails and are sailed by two people usually. In this class you could earn your doublehanded novice rating.
- Daysailor Class - Already have a doublehanded novice and wonder about those larger boats at the north end of the dock? Attend this class on Saturday the 4th and you'll learn how to rig/sail the Pearson Ensign, Lightning, Flying Scot, and Cal20. No ratings will be given in this class, but it is a very useful class.
- Sailboarding/windsurfing class - Call them what you want, they're fun once you can stay up on them. The club has a fleet of longboard sailboards that you can learn to sail on. DINGHY INTERMEDIATE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP or permission of instructor. This class is Thursdays starting August 23 and you could earn a sailboard Novice in it.
- Odd Boats class - John Courter is teaching this class, which he describes as : Learn to rig and sail boats that you have ratings for, but never took out because you didn't feel you could try it on your own. Those that don't have ratings for a boat yet but are interested in learning about it are welcome also. Laser >>, Flying Scot, Lightning, Ensign, Cal 20, big cats, Finn, Bravo, 470.
This class is Wednesdays starting August 1 and you might get a rig rating or two out of it.
Go sign up! If you have any questions contact the vice commodore. |

I'll be holding ratings examiner hours this summer at the following times at the waterfront docks:
Mondays 4:00 - 8:00
Tuesdays 1:00 - 5:00
Saturdays 12:00 - 6:00
Sundays 2:00 - 7:00
These are good times to get some sailing practice and/or instruction outside a class. And to take practical and written tests.
