The racing team is looking forward to another great year. Several of the team members traveled to the east coast and competed in a couple of
pre-season regattas to tune up for the year. We competed in the Captain Hurst Bowl at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, and then gave a very good showing a week later at the Nevins Trophy at Kings's Point, New York, hosted by the Merchant Marine Academy. The team finished 9th overall in the three division regatta, sailing in Lasers, FJ's, and the exciting
Vanguard 15. Between all this competing, the sailors practiced with other teams at Dartmouth, Harvard, and the Merchant Marine Academy.
The team members had a leisurely summer off, with most of us teaching sailing or competing ourselves. As we enter the season ranked
16th in the country, we are looking forward to a successful year.
