End of July Paul Shipley (Chief, former 5o5 Fleet Captain) and his wife
Rebecca Tyson had an early surprise. Their twin boys were born
prematurely. After a few weeks stay in the hospital, they are home and
doing well. The Tysleys are currently living in Arizona.
Past Commodore, David Stienmier is recently engaged to Cass. Once a high school sweetheart, they renewed their relationship a year ago. David is currently working and living in the Bay area of California, and Cass is living in Sumner, Washington. David should be moving north some time in 2001, a date will not be set until the couple are living in the same city.
August 19, 2000, Kelly Bruland (Chief, and past Catamaran Fleet
Captain) was married to Katrina Knight in Milwaukee, Oregon. It was a beautiful
outdoor ceremony overlooking the Willamette River. Photos of their wedding can
be viewed at http://portlandphotographer.com
. After the wedding they were off to a
honeymoon bed and breakfasting along the Oregon coast.
August 20, 2000, Matt Squires (our own Web Master), got hitched to Heather Witt (our Tell Tale, Burgee, Reciprocal Moorage Lady). They had a private ceremony on their sailing vessel, New Salt, with a reception following at the Seattle Yacht Club. Matt demonstrated the kiss from the ceremony..... WOW! They honeymooned in Hawaii for 3 weeks and then spent another 2 weeks cruising up into the San Juan Islands and Canada.
Keelboat chief, former Faculty Advisor, instructor and long time club member Ken Plochinski quit his career as a math professor at UW and moved to Michigan at the end of August to study law. We’ll miss you Ken!
Simon Barry (Assistant Whaler Fleet Captain) and Cheryl Brown are expecting their second baby. Due to arrive on December 15, 2000.
Thomas (Past Commodore) and Tammy Kempton are expecting a baby boy, any minute. They should be back home with the baby by the time this gets to print. They are currently living in Moses Lake.
Arthur has a new girlfriend.
May all your loves be true,
Rebecca
