A Word From the Social Committee  Andrea Pachtman

Hello Everyone-
The social ladies of the social committee have been spicing it up! First off, we started this quarter off with a few successful Potlucks featuring sailing movies. Amongst us, are some very talented chefs, but we shan’t divulge, who should be on your next keelboat trip!

This quarter also saw the debut of Pool Sharks, Tuesday evenings at the HUB. WYC Members played pool, laughed with each other, and went out afterwards for some U dist. chow. One recent Tuesday, Wind Goddess Julia proved too strong for us to go to the pool hall and we followed her call to the WAC for a late evening sail. Much thanks to Ross for taking out Came to Believe.

Finishing off the quarter was the Spring Fling Regatta initiated by Alex. A barbecue following the race warmed up the participants and special home crafted awards were given out.

Upcoming events to look out for: Boat Opening Day on May 5th, a Novice Regatta and various sailing workshops.

Suggestions from you are always welcomed; please let us know.

-Your Social Committee

PS: Special thanks to Matt & Heather for their help at all our events. Their presence will be greatly missed; best of luck to them both.
