Applying for a Liquor Permit
Alcoholicbeverages may be served only as complimentary to and part of a plannedprogram at the time and place specified on the liquor permit. Liquor cannot be sold for cash, scrip or tickets. Service and consumption of alcoholic beverages must be restricted tomembers and / or invited guests who are 21 years of age or older.
1. Complete “University of Washington Authorization to Apply for a Banquet Permit to Serve Alcoholic Beverages.” It is available at http://www.washington.edu/provost/specialprograms/banquet.html.
2. After you have completed the form in full and submitted it online, it will be electronically forwarded for two additional approvals: A. SAO Office - Rene Singleton B. WAC building manager – Jim Seagren or his assistant. C. Representative of Office of the Provost. ("UW Facilities")
3. Once all signatures are obtained, you will receive a copy of the completed UW permit. Take the completed UW permit to any state liquor store and buy a State Liquor Permit for $10.00.
4. It is this State Liquor Permit, not the UW permit, that must be posted in the reserved room in a conspicuous place during the event. Failure to post proper state permit means NO liquor will be allowed in the WAC. |
