Like every other RSO, we have a myUW account that the Student Activities Office gave to us. It functions just like your myUW account. It is how the University recognizes our RSO and how they publish us on the RSO site (http://depts.washington.edu/sao/rso_search_detail.php?id=49). We simply forward the email going to that account (sailing@u.washington.edu/ sailing@uw.edu) to commodore@washingtonyachtclub.org, and the site that they "gave" us (http://students.washington.edu/sailing) forwards people to our actual site.

The important part of this account is that they give us storage for files on the "dante" server. This was used extensively in years past. These are files such as old tax records and pictures. The downside is that they have a lot stored on dante and so our  "UW Email and File Storage" (that bar graph that appears on the MyUW homepage) is dangerously close to full. Check occasionally to make sure we have not exceeded our limit, because when we go over that amount we will stop receiving emails (not good!).
