They no longer send out renewal notices of any kind but you can renew on the internet (https://fortress.wa.gov/dol/vesprod/?renew) starting 6 months before your current ones expire (end of June for us) and either you can take care of it or hand it off to someone else (like the Commodore) but it's good to know what is going on in any case. The head fleet captain and purser should have a list of what vessels are in which fleet and be able to verify that we are renewing the registrations for all the boats that need them and not renewing for boats that we no longer own. Â Then someone with the ability needs to cut a check, charging the expenses to account 3040 for the KB registrations and 1145 for the others, and send it off to the King County Licensing Section. If you are running out of time then someone needs to take the money in. You can take it to any licensing station if necessary, however, you will then have to pay a subagent fee of $4 per registration so it is better to do it ahead of time online. Hull stickers for the year and boat registrations will come in the mail. You need to sign (or have the Commodore sign) and then laminate all the Boat Registrations and take them down to the WAC so that they can be put with their respective boats. If it's a dinghy registration, only laminate the small card (the big version won't fit on a dinghy or cat). Save the rest of it in the file drawer of boat registrations. The hull stickers have serial numbers that, on the off chance that anyone checks, need to match the serial number printed on the registration certificates. Usually the HFC makes applying the right stickers to the right boats a work party item. |
